The Gardening Show at Johnstown Castle Sun 14th Sep 2014.  This year the Show has competition classes for fruit, flowers and vegetables, as well as separate sections for floral art, preserves and childrens exhibits. New Ross Piano Festival from Thu 25th Sep 2014 to Sun 28th Sep 2014. If you want a slightly different musical weekend then the small town of New Ross, which lies between Rosslare and Waterford,  is the host to one of the jewels of the music festival scene in Ireland.

Kelly’s new café earns place in prestigious restaurant guide

HOTELIER BILL Kelly’s latest venture, Kelly’s Café, features in John and Sally McKenna’s top 100 Restaurant Guide in Ireland, which has just been published. The new guide is called ‘Celebrating the arrival of the “Creative Casual” restaurant’ and is widely recognised as one of the top guides in Ireland. There were over 21 new entrants including the café which was the only new restaurant nominated in Wexford. John McKenna says: ‘Kelly’s Cafe is likely to be the hottest destination in the sunny south east in 2014. From the day they opened their doors, the team under Head Chef Stephane Rochard and Café Manager Nichola Dempsey haven’t put a foot wrong. And the alliance of superb food and a stylish room is unbeatable. ‘The team have worked hard to create this new space and have sourced the best natural foods found abundantly in Wexford, the staff and I are thrilled to part of this prestigious guide,’ said Bill Kelly. Wexford Fringe Festival

Tales Of The Enchanted Forest

25 – 28 October 2013 Venue: Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig, Co. Wexford Journey through the enchanted forest of the Irish National Heritage Park with Little Red Riding Hood to create your very own fairy tale and maybe make a few friends along the way! This event is suitable for children aged 5 to 10 years. There will be a mask making workshop each evening at 5.30pm (lasts approximately 1 hour). Children are €15 and adults are free (adults must be accompanied by a child!). There is limited availability and booking is essential. Rosslare Watersports Centre

Rosslare Watersports Centre based in Rosslare Holiday Resort, County Wexford offers lessons in windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing. Open July & August, friendly qualified RYA/ISA instructors give group and individual lessons. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids can be rented by the hour.
